Welcome to unLOCKEd’s Marketing Mindfulness Series!

Relaxed while working

The digital world is hectic, busy, and overwhelming. We have begun to notice this in our personal lives – allotting device-free time in our days, turning off notifications, making time for offline hobbies, etc. – but it is often neglected during work hours. In many positions, spending time in this chaotic world is part of the job, especially for the modern marketer.

This is where mindfulness comes in. Although we cannot simply log off in the middle of the workday, we can implement other mindfulness practices in our daily routines to help ease some of the stress that may come with a fundamentally digital job.

July Marketing Mindfulness

In this series, we’ll post a blog once a month exploring a mindfulness tactic you can incorporate into your day! Trying to make a big change all at once can be daunting and frustrating, but with one small change each month, you can make a big difference!

In this blog, we will begin by discussing mindfulness and its benefits, and next month, we will jump into our first mindfulness practice!

What Is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness, at its core, is the art of being present.  Although the stereotype of meditation or yoga may come to your mind, it involves so much more than that! While these can be great practices to help you stay present, there are many other ways to do this throughout your daily life.

While you may practice mindfulness in your personal life, you can then bring this awareness and sense of calm with you into the workplace. Or, you may find a practice that helps you stay present in the workplace, which in turn allows you to carry less work stress into your personal life. Mindfulness can be practiced anywhere and in all aspects of life and has many benefits!

What Are the Benefits?

Mindfulness can have various benefits both in your personal and professional life. Studies have shown that it can help you make better decisions, reduce confirmation bias and overconfidence, lower stress, improve your mood, and become more creative. It can also enhance your focus, increase your productivity, heighten your adaptability, and even improve your relationships!

Workplaces have begun to see some of these benefits in their employees and incorporated mindfulness directly into their work structure. However, if you’re interested in implementing mindfulness practices for yourself, you’re not alone!

This mindfulness series will provide you with tactics you can use to improve your mindfulness at home and work.

We hope this blog has intrigued you enough to continue this series with us. Remember to look out for our August mindfulness practice next month!
